IRWIN Tools Night Race - Bristol Motor Speedway
Aug 19, 2015
DRIVER STATS
Michael McDowell has 10 Cup starts at Bristol Motor Speedway with his two best finishes coming in his last two races at the short track.  In August 2014, he finished 18th in the team’s first race with Thrivent Financial on board as a primary sponsor.  Earlier this year, he secured a 22nd place finish – coming from the back of the field after a mechanical issue with the car.

McDOWELL ON BRISTOL
“I love coming to Bristol Motor Speedway – we’ve had some great success here in the past and it’s a great track where a team like ours can find some opportunities and secure a solid finish.  We finished 18th and 22nd in the past two races here and we’re fresh off a Top-20 finish at Watkins Glen – so getting another Top-20 in a row would be great for our team.  That’s what were striving for.”

HISTORY OF THE NO. 95
The number 95 has a hefty history in the Sprint Cup Series at Bristol Motor Speedway, having been wheeled around the circuit 23 times in the hands of legendary drivers like Davey Allison, Sterling Marlin, and Darrell Waltrip. While the 95 has a best finish of 8th by Sterling Marlin in 1984, the number has only led 3 laps at BMS, two of which were by Leavine Family Racing in 2011.

FOOD CITY FAN FEST
Michael McDowell will sign autographs for fans from 6pm – 8pm on Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Food City Fan Fest.  McDowell will be at the Thrivent Financial booth, which will feature his No. 95 Ford Fusion as well as an area where fans can play the Driven To Thrive – To 95! online game.

$95,000 DONATION
LFR team sponsor Thrivent Financial is encouraging race fans to play an online game where they can be part of a $95,000 donation from Thrivent Financial to Habitat for Humanity. Plus, just by playing, they will also be entered into a grand prize drawing for a VIP trip for two to the championship race weekend on Nov. 22 in Homestead, Fla.  Fans can play the game at: www.ThriventRacing.com
