CONCORD, N.C. (June 17, 2020) – Leavine Family Gaming (LFG) returns for a second year of competing in the eNASCAR Heat Pro League. LFG closed out the inaugural season second and looks to improve by one position in the final standings this season. The eNASCAR Heat Pro League was created via a partnership between Motorsport Games, NASCAR, and the Race Team Alliance. The league runs on 14 different tracks throughout the season, competing in NASCAR Cup, Xfinity and Truck bodies.
Returning to the LFG driver lineup this season is driver Josh "The Bear" Harbin, who moves from the Xbox platform to PS4. Harbin will be joined by rookie Jose Ruiz, who enters his first season in the Pro League on Xbox One. The duo is looking to defend the team's performance from last season, which resulted in a championship lost on a tiebreaker to Stewart-Haas eSports.
"We came so close last season that it has me even more pumped for this season," said driver Josh Harbin. "I'm excited to work with Jose and get him up to speed in the league so we can show these other teams that we didn't come to mess around."
Leavine Family Racing has invested in the Pro League since the inception and sees its value in reaching a younger demographic which helps increase their fan base through the world of eSports.
"We usually look at a driver's skillset on track and their marketability off track," said Jeremy Davidson, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Leavine Family Racing. "We want drivers that can perform on race day, while also being good ambassadors for our team. I think we found just that in Josh and Jose."
The Bear has led the way for LFG with one win, four top-fives and five top-ten finishes after six events in the 2020 season.
The next race of the season is Thursday, June 18, where Harbin and Ruiz will compete at Iowa Speedway in NASCAR Xfinity Series Toyota Supras. They enter the event third and 13th in points, respectively.
