Kasey Kahne – No. 95 Dumont JETS Camaro ZL1 Preview
May 15, 2018

No. 95 Dumont JETS Camaro ZL1 Notes:

CHECK OUT THAT THROWBACK PAINT: This weekend for the All-Star Race, Kasey Kahne will run a special throwback-inspired paint scheme aboard his No. 95 Camaro ZL1.  The car will be sponsored by Dumont JETS and features a paint job that pays homage to the car he ran in the 2008 All-Star Race when he was voted into the race thanks to the Sprint Fan Vote.  Kahne is the only driver who has won the fan vote and then gone on to win the All-Star Race.  Kahne earned his million-dollar payout when his team made a strategy call to get a splash of fuel and dominated the final segment of the race.

COME ONE, COME ALL: Leavine Family Racing (LFR) will hold the team's inaugural Fan Fest on Friday, May 25th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET at the team's facility in Concord, NC. Kasey Kahne and crew chief Travis Mack are both scheduled to sign autographs from 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. that afternoon for 100 lucky fans in attendance.  Wristbands for the session will be handed out starting at 1:00 p.m. that afternoon at the event.  For more info, visit www.LFR95.com

KAHNE BY THE NUMBERS: In 14 Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race career starts, Kasey Kahne has an average start of 11.2 and an average finish of 12.2.  He’s completed 1,121 of 1,313 (85.3 percent) career laps and has led for a total of 69 laps in All-Star Race competition.  Kahne has earned one win, two top-five finishes, four top-10 finishes, and one pole award in the non-points event.

RACE INFO: The Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway (1.5-mile) begins at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 19th. The race will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1, Sirius XM Channel 90 and MRN Radio.

From the Driver’s Seat:

Kasey Kahne: “It was so awesome that the fans voted us into the All-Star race back in 2008.  It really was special to get voted into the race, and then to have a great car to be able to drive our way to the front in order to make strategy calls that put us in position to win.  Our paint scheme for this weekend looks so similar to that scheme we ran in 2008’s event, that it’s been cool to see it in the shop as the guys have been getting ready for this weekend.  I’m looking forward to racing it this weekend, and hopefully the paint scheme can bring us the same result we had ten years ago.  With us not having run this rules package, we go into this weekend not exactly sure how the cars are going to feel in general, how they’ll work around other cars, or what the speeds will be like.  It’s tough to say how it will all work out, but we won’t be learning much from this weekend to carry over into the 600 like we may have in years past.  Teams will try to go out and win the All-Star Race with this package, and then next weekend, we’ll go back to racing what we’ve been racing all season long.”

From the Pit Box:

Travis Mack: “We are looking forward to having the pressure off for a week since this isn’t a points race, and the goal is to go out and have fun trying to win a million dollars.  There is kind of an unknown on set-ups going into this weekend since we’re running a new rules package.  We will have to be prepared to make changes during practice in order to trim the car out for speed, but to also make sure Kasey (Kahne) can hold it wide open longer into the run.  We will be watching The Open practice very closely to see how the cars handle, and to see how we need to adapt to this package.  As far as set-up for the 600 next weekend goes, we will take into consideration some of the changes we make this weekend, but we won’t get too far off of what we have learned up to this point of the year.”
